Coach Louis Mathis
 

Almond (Louis) Mathis is not new to Ohio.  He is the Founder/Director for the (new) Westside Vikings D.b.a. Westside Warriors Youth's Sports Program (WWYSP).

 

He is from Patterson, N.J., a former Ohio State Buckeye;  recruited and trained by the infaous Coach "Woody" Hayes from 1970-1974 and is a current Varsity O member.  He played in two Rose Bowl games against the University of California (USC) Trojans (1973-1974).  He lead the team with 6 interceptions his junior year. 

 

Coach Mathis brings 38 years of coaching experience to the West Side Vikings/WWYSP.  His knowledge and hands-on training began at age 11 years old.  Coach Mathis played for the New York Stars of the World Football Leage (WFL) and coached several atheletes on to major colleges, the Canadian Football League (CFL), National Football League (NFL)​, and National Basketball Association (NBA).

Coach Mathis has been trained and worked under the renowned Coach Greg Toal, who coached at Don Bosco Prepatory School in Ramsey, N.J.
